TheDouble is open to users aged 16 and above. We take safety seriously and have built several layers of protection into the service.

AI safety guardrails

No adult content

Your Double will not generate sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise harmful content. These guardrails are enforced at the model level (Anthropic's Claude) and at the application layer. Attempts to bypass them are logged and may result in account termination.

Crisis-sensitive responses

If your Double detects that a conversation involves self-harm, suicide, or a mental health crisis, it is instructed to respond with care and to direct you to professional resources rather than engage with the topic in a potentially harmful way.

No guidance on dangerous activities

Your Double will not provide instructions for illegal activities, the manufacture of weapons or dangerous substances, or other activities that could cause physical harm.

Discretion architecture

Your Double learns information about you through your conversations. This information is private to you. Your Double will never reveal your private memories or insights to another user's Double (or to anyone else) without your explicit consent. Double-to-Double communication is scoped strictly to information you have chosen to share.

Reporting AI messages

If your Double produces a response that you believe is harmful, inappropriate, or unsafe, you can report it directly in the app:

• Long-press the message in your Double's conversation.
• Tap Report message.
• Select the reason and submit.

All reports are reviewed by a human. If a pattern of unsafe outputs is detected, we will take corrective action including adjusting system prompts or filing a report with our AI provider (Anthropic).

Human review

Reported messages are reviewed by the operator (Wojciech Rokosz) within 2 business days. We do not have automated moderation tooling at this stage; all review is manual. We will act on credible safety reports promptly.

Age requirement

TheDouble requires users to be at least 16 years old. We rely on users to confirm their age at onboarding. If you believe a minor under 16 is using the service, please contact us so we can investigate and remove the account.
