Terms of Service

Effective date: 6 July 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of TheDouble, operated by Wojciech Rokosz, an individual based in Poland ("we", "us", "operator"). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility — minimum age 16

You must be at least 16 years old to use TheDouble. By continuing, you confirm that you meet this age requirement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts where we have reason to believe this requirement is not met.

2. Your account

Your account is identified by your phone number. You are responsible for keeping your device secure. Do not share your OTP codes with anyone. One account per person; accounts are not transferable.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use TheDouble to:

Generate, transmit, or store illegal content under Polish or EU law.
Harass, threaten, or abuse other users or third parties.
Attempt to manipulate your Double or another user's Double to produce harmful, dangerous, or deceptive outputs for malicious purposes.
Circumvent or attempt to circumvent the AI safety measures built into the service.
Use the service for automated bulk messaging or any form of spam.
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract the source code of the application or its backend systems.
Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, with or without prior notice.

4. AI-generated content — no warranty of accuracy

Your Double is powered by AI and its responses are generated automatically. AI outputs may be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date. Do not rely on your Double's outputs for medical, legal, financial, or safety-critical decisions. Always verify important information with qualified professionals.

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your reliance on AI-generated content produced by your Double.

5. Beta service — provided as-is

TheDouble is currently in beta. The service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time during the beta period.

6. Intellectual property

The TheDouble name, mark, and application are owned by Wojciech Rokosz. Content you create (your messages, your Double's memories) remains yours; you grant us a limited licence to process it solely to provide the service.

7. Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time via Settings → Danger zone → Delete account, or by following the instructions at the account deletion page. We may terminate your account for breach of these Terms. Upon termination, your data is deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Polish and EU law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of TheDouble shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim (which during the free beta is zero). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

9. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of Poland. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Poland, unless mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence grants you additional rights that cannot be waived.

If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. We will notify you in-app before material changes take effect. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
